Nurses Inspire Nurses started in 2018 after I got a Twinkie for Nurses Week and thought nurses deserve so much more than this. I threw a party, decided only nurses could come, put “Nurses Inspire Nurses” on a T-shirt on a complete whim and the rest is history.
A lot has changed since then. I’ve changed. Nursing has changed. And nursing has led me to this really magical career I never could have planned for. I spent seven years at the bedside, built Nurses Inspire Nurses, and today I run multiple companies and use my nursing degree in marketing. Not exactly the career path they tell you about in nursing school.
And that’s what I hope we always remind you of: being a nurse can open so many doors, and your path doesn’t have to look just one way. Nursing can be your forever career, your stepping stone, your side hustle, your foundation for something completely different or some combination of all of it.
Work the extra shift. Don’t work the extra shift. Take the trip. Change specialties. Start the business. Stay at the bedside forever. There is no one right way to do it.
I always say: make nursing work for you, not the other way around. Thanks for being here.
